Study.Buddies is rated 4+ and available to users of all ages. You own 100% of your notes and work, your credits are metered transparently, and subscriptions can be managed or cancelled anytime.

1. Billing & Subscriptions
Study.Buddies provides optional paid subscription plans that grant monthly credit allowances and unlock advanced features.
Quizzes, flashcards, and multi-page document scans (up to 2 pages).
Core lecture recording (up to 60m), multi-page scan (up to 5 pages), and study essentials.
Longer recordings (up to 75m), multi-page scan (up to 5 pages), AI note editor, and daily study workloads.
Maximum monthly capacity (75m audio, 5-page scans) and priority AI speed for rigorous exam preparation.
- Payment Processing: Charges are processed by Apple (Apple ID) or Google (Google Play) depending on where you subscribe. Subscriptions are not sold on the web.
- Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to renewal.
- Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your subscription at any time. When cancelled, your plan remains fully active with full features and remaining credits until the end of the current paid billing period.
2. Credit System & Fair Use
To keep pricing fair for both light and heavy study sessions, volume is metered through a single shared monthly credit pool:
One Pool, Not Arbitrary Counters
One credit equals approximately a tenth of a US cent of AI processing. Every AI feature draws from the same pool so you can allocate credits to recordings, PDF extraction, or AI companion Q&A however you need.
Priced by Real Compute
A 75-minute lecture costs more credits than a 5-minute clip. Any system request that errors or fails does not deduct credits from your account.
Monthly Anniversary Reset
Your full credit balance refreshes on your monthly billing anniversary date. Unused credits do not roll over, transfer, or hold cash value.
Plan Changes & Upgrades
When changing plans, new allowances apply upon the start of the next cycle. You can inspect your real-time balance and past usage anytime in Settings › AI Usage.
3. Content Ownership & Intellectual Property
Your Notes Remain 100% Yours: You retain complete, unencumbered ownership and copyright over all handwritten notes, whiteboard captures, audio recordings, PDFs, and synthesized study decks you create in Study.Buddies.
No Commercial Exploitation or Public AI Training: We do not sell your personal notes, nor do we use your private academic material to train public AI foundation models.
Export Freedom: You can export any note at any time to standard Markdown (.md) or PDF formats directly from the note editor toolbar without lock-in.
4. Operating Rules & AI Output
🎙️ Foreground Capture
Lecture recording runs only while the recorder screen is open. Locking your phone or switching to another app stops the capture.
🔍 AI Verification
AI provides powerful study assistance but may occasionally produce errors. Always cross-check technical formulas and citations against course material.
🛡️ Automated Safeguards
If system retry loops or unusual anomalies are detected, AI calls may pause temporarily to protect quota. Contact support to resume immediately.
5. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
Service Warranty (“As Is”): Study.Buddies is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, zero data loss, or error-free output.
Liability Cap: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or fifty US dollars ($50 USD), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
